Community Standards
Version date: February 5, 2026
CallOut is built on the principle that holding bad drivers accountable begins with accountability, transparency, and mutual respect. These Community Standards define the social contract that binds our community together and ensures that CallOut remains a positive force for change.
By using CallOut, you agree to uphold these standards and contribute to a community that values truth, fairness, and safety.
Our Core Values
1. Evidence Integrity
1.1 Authentic Evidence Only
All callouts must be based on real, unmanipulated evidence of traffic violations.
You MUST NOT:
- Submit fake, fabricated, or staged violations ("street theater")
- Manipulate photos or videos to misrepresent events
- Use AI-generated or deepfake content
- Resubmit old evidence as new violations
- Submit evidence of violations you did not personally witness
Examples of Acceptable Evidence:
- Dashcam footage of a driver running a red light
- Photo of a car parked in a fire lane
- Video of a driver texting while driving
Examples of Unacceptable Evidence:
- Staged reenactment of a violation
- Edited video that removes context or alters timestamps
- Screenshot from a movie or TV show
- Evidence obtained through illegal means (e.g., trespassing)
1.2 Natural Observation
Evidence must be captured naturally and spontaneously during normal driving, walking, or cycling activities.
You MUST NOT:
- Plan or coordinate to "catch" a specific driver in a violation
- Stalk or follow a vehicle for extended periods with the intent to capture violations
- Set up fixed cameras specifically to target a particular vehicle or driver
- Provoke or instigate violations to capture evidence
Why This Matters: CallOut is designed to document real-world driving behavior, not to enable harassment or stalking. Planned targeting undermines the platform's integrity and may be illegal in some jurisdictions.
1.3 Context and Clarity
Evidence should provide sufficient context to allow fair review.
Best Practices:
- Capture enough of the scene to show the violation clearly
- Include timestamps and location data (pulled from automatically embedded EXIF tags typically)
- Avoid extreme close-ups that obscure context
- Ensure lighting and resolution are adequate for review
2. Review Accuracy and Good Faith
2.1 Honest and Objective Reviews
When reviewing callouts, you must evaluate evidence fairly and objectively, free from bias or personal motives.
You MUST:
- Base your review solely on the evidence provided
- Consider all relevant factors (e.g., road conditions, visibility, context)
- Apply the same standards to all callouts, regardless of who submitted them
- Admit uncertainty when evidence is unclear or imperfect
You MUST NOT:
- Approve or reject callouts based on personal relationships or vendettas
- Collude with other users to manipulate review outcomes
- Submit biased reviews to boost or harm another user's reputation
- Review callouts involving your own submissions or those of close associates
2.2 Review impact on callout credibility score and user reputation score
The callout credibility score reflects the community’s assessment of the accuracy and fairness of the callout report. Reviews are the primary way to validate the credibility of callouts. Patterns of biased, inaccurate, or malicious reviews will result in:
- Permanent reduction of your User Reputation Score
- Loss of review privileges
- Account suspension or termination
Examples of Good Faith Reviews:
- "The video clearly shows the driver running a red light. Valid callout."
- "The evidence is unclear due to poor lighting. Insufficient evidence."
- "The driver appears to be yielding to an emergency vehicle. Not a violation."
Examples of Bad Faith Reviews:
- "I know this person and they're a bad driver. Approved." (bias)
- "I don't like this user, so I'm rejecting all their callouts." (vendetta)
- "This is my friend, so I'm approving even though the evidence is weak." (collusion)
3. Respectful Conduct
3.1 No Harassment or Vigilantism or Doxxing
CallOut is a platform for reporting violations, not for confronting, harassing, or punishing drivers. Evidence that a user is engaging in harassing or vigilantism or doxxing behaviors on other platforms across the internet where CallOut information is being shared, will be grounds for account termination in CallOut.
You MUST NOT:
- Confront drivers in person about their violations
- Use CallOut to organize or coordinate confrontations
- Share personal information about drivers (doxxing)
- Encourage or incite violence or vigilante justice
- Use threatening, abusive, or harassing language
Why This Matters: Confrontations can escalate into dangerous situations. CallOut is designed to promote accountability through community awareness, not through direct confrontation.
3.2 Respectful Discourse
When interacting with other users (e.g., in reviews or comments or flags), maintain a respectful and constructive tone.
You MUST:
- Disagree respectfully and provide reasoned arguments
- Assume good faith unless proven otherwise
- Report policy violations through proper channels (flags)
You MUST NOT:
- Use profanity, slurs, or hate speech
- Engage in personal attacks or name-calling
- Spam or flood the platform with repetitive content
- Impersonate other users or entities
3.3 Zero Tolerance for Hate Speech
CallOut has zero tolerance for hate speech, discrimination, or incitement of violence based on:
- Race, ethnicity, or national origin
- Religion or belief system
- Gender, gender identity, or sexual orientation
- Disability or medical condition
- Age or socioeconomic status
Violations will result in immediate account termination.
4. Privacy
4.1 Respect for Privacy
While CallOut focuses on license plates and behavior on public roads (which are public information), users must protect the privacy of all individuals, including themselves and any occupants of their own vehicle.
You MUST NOT:
- Include your own voice, image, or face in submitted evidence
- Include personally identifiable information of any occupants in the submitting user's vehicle
- Include audio that captures private conversations or personally identifiable information
- Include faces or other personally identifying features beyond license plates
- Capture interior vehicle shots that reveal personal information
Video evidence submitted to CallOut has audio stripped by default. Users may opt in to include audio only after attesting that the audio does not contain private conversations or personally identifiable information.
Violations of these PII rules are flaggable offenses subject to content removal and account consequences.
4.2 No Doxxing
Doxxing (publishing private or identifying information about an individual) is strictly prohibited.
You MUST NOT:
- Share the name, address, phone number, workplace or other personal details of drivers
- Attempt to identify vehicle owners using license plate information
- Encourage others to harass or contact drivers
- Attempt to use other internet platforms to pursue doxxing of vehicles posted on CallOut
Violations of anti-doxxing rules may result in legal action and account termination. Note doxxing may be illegal in some jurisdictions, and CallOut will cooperate with law enforcement as required by law.
5. Platform Integrity
5.1 No Collusion or Manipulation
CallOut employs anti-collusion detection to identify patterns of coordinated abuse.
You MUST NOT:
- Coordinate with other users to unfairly target a specific driver or vehicle
- Create multiple accounts to manipulate reputation scores
- Use bots or automated tools to submit callouts or reviews
- Engage in "vote brigading" or mass flagging campaigns
Detection and Consequences:
Our systems monitor for patterns such as:
- Multiple users repeatedly reporting the same license plate
- Groups of users consistently approving each other's callouts
- Sudden spikes in flags or reviews targeting a specific user
Detected collusion will result in permanent account termination for all involved parties.
